I’m pleased to show you some of my 3D creations. Click on any of the photos to see more details. I encourage you to come back often to see what’s new!
As a young child I had an imaginary world of fairies and elves; I created this piece from those fantasies. Anni is a name of a famous weaver and I hand wove some parts of this wall hanging; Poudretteite is a rare and extremely valuable pink stone. The name appealed to my childhood imaginings and stories. This piece measures 16 x 7 inches.
I made these charming little houses from tiny bits of fabric heavily stitched together, which gives the houses a rich color and texture. I then decorated them with fabric and beads to give them their fanciful look. The houses remind me of the quote by Desmond Tutu, “ Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” Enjoy my little bits of good! Each piece is 11 inches high and 2.5 x 2.5 inches at its base.
This very jolly fellow is another 3D art piece using little bits of fabric heavily stitched together. When I created him my intent was to show his joy of being outside his box, never to be shoved back in again! So many times people shove others down with their words, keeping their victims from reaching their full potential. My Jack-in-a-box is a reminder to not lose the joy of reaching out for your dreams. This piece is 14 inches high and 4.5 x 4.5 inches at its base.
